Capital Region businesses are adopting computerized methods of communication and information gathering, but a majority still do not use tools such as e-mail, online services and the information-rich sections of the Internet.
E-mail is used by 44 percent of the businesses surveyed by Siena Research Institute for the Times Union. In 1995 only 30.2 percent of businesses said they used the technology.
Internal e-mail is used less frequently, by 37.9 percent of businesses, but that number has jumped from 28.1 percent in 1995.
